Non stop fever for over a week

I've name changed as I've been speaking about this to literally anyone who will listen...

I've had a fever since last Friday night... No other symptoms really (apart from low back pain initially which made me think it was possibly a kidney infection, and a cough which developed on Weds), aside from the symptoms you have with a fever - chills, aches, bit of nausea, headache etc. Paracetamol and ibuprofen have brought the fever down and I've felt 'better' until the drugs wear off and I'm feverish and feel like utter shit (like, can't get out of bed-level shit) again.

I went to OOH last Sunday because I was worried about a kidney infection. Urine sample is clear but they gave me antibiotics anyway. I saw another doctor on Weds (OOH doc told me to be seen again if the meds didn't work), who gave me a different course of antibiotics. I had a blood test on Friday and I've just seen the results on the NHS app (what a marvellous thing!) and all are fine... This is very reassuring as I was sure something sinister was going on.

Anyway I still feel absolutely rough as fuck... Decided to let the fever come out today to see how it felt/if I was better and I didn't last long as I felt so shit.

What on earth is this weird, largely symptom-less fever?? Has anyone had anything like this before? I certainly haven't...

Bloods and urine are clear which is great
Two lots of antibiotics and your still rough
More than likely viral

But of course if you get worse, Temperature doesnt come down, You stop peeing etc, then see a dr straight away but sounds like you just gotta let it ride out

There is alot going around at the moment

Thank you @PoopingAllTheWay
It's just such a weird, nondescript virus - usually you've got some symptoms to write home about!
The cough is pretty bad now I suppose - it's just weird that it started on Wednesday, 5 days after the fever.
Anyway, I guess I'll never know what this thing is and, yes, riding it out is the answer!

I’m just getting over this. Very weird, I had no symptoms at all apart from one night of throwing up after 5 days of temperature and feeling awful. Continued to feel nauseous and feverish for another week. Exhausting. But I’m recovering now! Take care and rest!

High temps and cough, first thought is COVID.

I did 2 Covid tests, both negative
