Corrective eye surgery - any stories?

Always shied away from this, but a couple of contact-lens infections are making me reconsider. I'm v.short-sighted, minus 6, (apparently qualifying me for the paralympics!)

Anyone had the surgery? What's the recovery like? Is it manageable with an under 1?

ooh yes go for it! I had this done in Oct 07 when my dd was just 1yr. I had 20/20 vision when I went for my appointment the next day.
There was no pain, no problems, just had a quiet afternoon the day I had the surgery done. I was off work a few days more due to work I do than anything else.
The procedure is very quick and painless. It's well worth going for the appointment and talking through your options. Two other ladies at my work have recently taken the plunge and the same story quick recovery and no problems. Good luck! Any more questions just ask!

I have often thought about having this done but have never plucked up the courage. I know a few people that have had it done and I haven't heard any problems, everybody I know is very pleased with it.
