I went to see go yesterday because of my foot pain. I got prescribed co codamol 500-30 but I don’t feel any improvement what so ever. Pain is not even dampened. I have inflamed tendons. Is there anything better I can ask?

Tendon pain is very difficult, I was prescribed naproxen for mine. Is there a reason you can't take anti inflammatory painkillers?

motsi · 19/03/2025 08:18

I am on other medication and can’t take anti inflammatory pain killers.

Oh painful.. poor you.
Try putting ice on your foot 20 mins every hour.. really helps inflammation.

Ibuprofen gel works surprisingly well on injuries such as yours.

Unfortunately if you can't take anti inflammatory painkillers you are really stuck.

This is what dh had to use. He can't take anti inflammatories either but his GP said that this was OK.

Just had a chat with gp and he said try tramadol, which should help a little bit. He also sent me to an xray.

I’ve had shoulder tendinitis several times and strong ibuprofen gel helped, along with cocodamol.

Tried Tranadol this morning and no effect on the pain. I got little bit uncomfortable fussy feeling but that’s all.

Where is the pain in your foot, if it's plantar fascitis can you try specific soles or footwear? How long have you had it? Is it affecting your mobility?

motsi · 20/03/2025 16:47

Gp diagnosed likely extensor tendinitis. Have had pain for two weeks. No injury etc.

if the pain would be somewhere else I wouldn’t need pain killers but I need my feet for walking.
