Sore gums-is it hormonal?

My gums are super sore and stinging. I'm currently on my period and apparently it's a thing to get sore gums (but I've never had it before) on or just before your period. Actually my period was super late (2 weeks) this time so I'm wondering if I could be perimenopausal. I'm 37. Not looking for a diagnosis obviously, just looking for some experiences from other posters who might've had this. So if you had sore gums/mouth whilst on your period or peri, or even pregnancy related gingivitis I'd really appreciate it.

I am going to the dentist soon but I have to go private now so I'm just waiting until I have the money. Wouldn't surprise me if I had gum disease but my gums don't look half as inflamed as they feel and they were fine a few days ago!

I had awful pregnancy gingivitis, my gums felt enormous all the time!

Is there any chance at all that you could indeed be pregnant and your late period is implantation bleeding?

@hereismydog did you find anything that helped? Currently I'm washing with saltwater and got some corsodyl. Ice cubes and cold drinks help somewhat. Stupidly ate some too hot food (temperature wise) the other day and it's been hell since then which hasn't helped but no way could I have burned my mouth that bad just from the food. Has to be something else as well.

Defo not pregnant! Am very single right now.
