Tingly face nerve issues?

Hi ya, 1st post here!!!

Just wondering if anyone has had anything any similar as I'm all googled out and freaked myself out to death! A month ago I had facial cellulitis from a staph infection. Was given antibiotics and healed in no time. Since then I've been left with tingly feeling around the area, eye twitching on and off and a weird sensation like like itches around my face. It can come in my jaw. Not really painful more annoying and everyday. I spoke to the GP who gave me some ampthripline (sorry of spelt wrong) but haven't started those yet. I'm a massive health anxiety worrier and scared to death! I've upped magnesuim and all supplements. Just wondering is anyone has anything similar?

I had the same after having Bell’s Palsy and still do on occasion – I assumed it was just the nerves resettling.

How long does it last ? Or does it keep returning ? Is there anything that helps settle.it?

I had trigeminal neuralgia and amitriptyline did the trick. I was able to control it with the lowest dose (after 2 weeks of taking it). Turned out I had infection in my tooth which I had out and then the pain went. I was able to come off the amitriptyline immediately with no adverse effects. I took it for 18 months and helped me sleep! I would not recommend it long term as it’s quite an old drug but I’d rather take the amitriptyline than have the pain I had. Dr also reckons I had Bell’s palsy as had a facial droop. If the twitch is affecting your life take the medication

I think the tingling is nerves irritated by what they’ve endured. Afaik your prescription is a useful one ! I get tingly nerves too and like you I take magnesium, B vitamins and electrolytes. I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you. I know I know but then you read the side effects and I'm like ahhhhhh !!!

Hi Op, I had something similar when the cold sore virus activated and travelled down a nerve in my mouth. A root canal greatly improved it. I still have some numb/tingling but that will likely remain now. Might be worth getting some dental x rays done too

Hey am in a similar position although my symptoms only just started and are not all in my face. I think it is anxiety. I had a very stressful week, little sleep, my period was super late because of it all and now these weird nerve issues happened. If you'd like some chat/support about it I'd be more than happy to as a fellow anxiety sufferer! Thinking of finally going on antidepressants because it's really starting to effect me. Did your doctor mention the possibility of anxiety?

Oh and I should add that magnesium can also cause tingling and numbness in itself as I had that a couple months ago (different sort of tingling to what I have now but I definitely noticed it in my face) when that happens I cut down on the magnesium for a bit. Unfortunately can't blame it this time as I've not been taking it much lately. There are a few posts on reddit about it but don't think it's well know so thought I'd mention it.
