Accidentally drank expired gaviscon - from 2020!

I had some awful heartburn and found some liquid gaviscon in the cupboard - I drank one teaspoon and then realised it expired in 2020! Is it safe to have drunk this? I know in tablet form medicines just tend to lose their efficiency but is it different as a liquid?
