Weeping rash behind dd ear

I went to the doctor who presribed her antibiotics as he said it was impetigo. Impetigo is highly contagoius and usually around the mouth and nose area so I kind of wondered why the rest of us didn't have it as she's had this for quite a few months.

The antibiotics didn't work so definately don't think it was impetigo, has anyone else ever had anything like this?

DD used to have this weeping sore where ear met head.. she was given nystaform (hydrocortisone cream basically which cleared it up)

sounds like eczema- both mine had it and I used to get it too. Hydrocortisone should help.

Both my girls got in at some stage, used sudocrem and worked a treat - I put it down to wet hair / ear creases - it was a bit like 'lick eczema' if you've no hydrocortisone try sudocrem

Definetly sounds like eczema.

worth seeing the doc again if it hasn't cleared up
could well be eczema but if weeping likely to have superadded infection. if this is the case and you put on hydrocort the infection will get worse...
it may be that the infection is a bug called strep instead of staph (impetigo) and you need a diff antibiotic cream or antifungal. impetigo common and is infectious but doesn't necessarily follow that you will catch it.
see the doc again if no better (they rely on people coming back if treatment doesn't work)

also consider whether you've changed your washing powder. Could be that.
