Painful left big toe and index finger joint are these related?

My big toe feels really stiff and painful to touch on the top of the joint. Not sure if there is a vein or just swelling. Weirdly my left index finger joint also hurts but comes and goes and not as painful. This has been happening for over a month, I tried wearing heels on a night out and there was no stability with my big toe. I wear sketchers in work I've also been quite ill this weekend, with some virus, sore horsey throat, nausea and headache and my face felt like it was burning but no rash, this has made my toe feel worse. Guessing I'm just run down? Could it be gout or arthritis? If it was gout would it last over a month? I've been taking tumeric to help with he joint pain.

What sort of age bracket are you in if over 40 could be arthritis (sometimes even younger) gout normally would of gotten worse by now, and if gout you need to see a doctor.

Early 40's,.it's strange how it's only on the one side though

Arthritis is just patches of places. I'd perhaps go and get it looked, even by a pharmacist and try a anti inflammatory gel

I wonder if it's gout. Big toe is the usual place for it but it can appear in other joints.

Yeah, some tien it's my left index finger joint too. If it is gout how do you get rid of it? It's sounds such an old persons illness 😭

You get medication from doctors for gout, as the crystals all need to break up. I don't think it's gout as normally it just gets worse and I'd think after a month you'd be unable to bear any pressure on it. If you get 2 cases of gout you go on medication permanently to hopefully prevent any further outbreak.
