I guess you're probably at the hospital by now so won't see this until later. My 11 year old DD had 4 teeth out under general anaesthetic in December. This was because she basically freaked out at the dentists and refused to let her anywhere near her teeth when it came to do it. Whilst the waiting was not nice, the whole thing was not bad at all and she didnt complain about any pain afterwards. Once you're at the hospital, it's all quite reassuring because they do this sort of thing every day and they're usually very good with the kids. Hope it all goes well.

my dd was 5 when she had to have 5 teeth out at the hospital under general anestetic, it was on the hottest day of the year and all she wanted was some water!! it was hard to say no.
she had the numbing cream on her hand and was very good and was'nt scared at all,she fell asleep very quickly(it was me that cried) but then again i was 8 months pregnant at the time.
the nurse came out a few minutes later to say they had found another rotten one and could they take that one out too so i agreed .
she was in there only 10 minutes when they bought her into the recovery room screaming in pain,it was truly awful ,what had happened was that she had woken up so quickly from the anesetic that the painkillers they had given to her had'nt had time to work so she felt the full force of the pain.
i was beside myself screaming at the nurses to do something but after 10 minutes she calmed down and had a drink and a play with the toys they had there .
we went home and she scoffed a bowl of spaghetti and a huge bowl of ice cream.
hope you child will be ok and from what i saw the other kids did not react like this at all they came out of recovery sleepy and drowsy.
good luck

We are home DS2 was a star. I stayed with him till he was alseep and then popped to the loo got a drink and went back, it was all done in 10 mins and he gave me the best smile in recovery. Home now and asking for prawns for lunch!!! God being a mother is hard some days, I was more upset by it all then him.

Poor little chap in the next bed had 14 teeth out and his parents spoke little English (polish) and he was so upset when he woke up and the nurse was trying to make the parents understand, I felt so so sorry for them
