Hi I recently found a lump in my breast which I have been doctors for and referred to breast clinic on two week wait. I have my appointment next Thursday and on letter it says that appointment can be around 3hrs. Can anyone tell me what to expect at the appointment. Thanks

I saw a consultant who felt the lump. Then I had a mammogram and then an ultrasound. Finally I had a biopsy taken.

All were painless and the women who I saw were lovely and kind.

I got the results 10 days later.

If you are under 40 it's likely to be an ultrasound instead of a mammogram.

You are in and out of consultation rooms - first there's an examination (after mammogram), then usually a wait for the ultrasound room, then possibly a biopsy but not always.

It's called a one stop shop because they try to give you tests and some idea of where you are within the day.

Sorry in my NHS area the mammogram is first but it varies
