She usually has short sleeved vest, pjs and a 2.5 tog grobag with monitor saying 21 degrees. she has a fever and will give her neurofen at bed time which should bring it down. do i dress her the same??

no, vest end nappy and light blanket.
or just pjs.
keep it minimal.

DS (no fever) has been wearing just a vest and a 1 tog grobag for the last week as it has been v hot in his room at night.

Maybe jsut the vest & grobag, the rest does sound like a lot...

the room is genuinely 21 and is in a basement with air vents so cooler than most bedrooms at the moment. she wakes up cold with anything less on. but thats without a fever.

I would stick her in just a nappy and check on her later. You don't want her temperature to stay up or for her to get any hotter. If you have to put something on her, then just a short sleeved vest.

Thanks everyone for your quick replies - it's so difficult isn't it. The GP told me the last time that she was ill that they do need covering otherwise their body thinks they're cold and tries to heat them up and therefore make the fever higher.

I'd go with vest and grow-bag. Yiu know they won't get chilly then, but not too hot either

I started with PJs and 1 tog grobag and checked her 45 mins later and she was all hot and sweaty, so she is now just in PJs.

I gave her calpol atr 6:15pm and then half an hour later, neurofen because still had temperature. She still feels the same heat wise (as in as if she has a fever) but the thermometer (digital ear thing) says she doesn't . She's sleeping at the mo. Does this sound ok??? I was expecting her to feel more 'normal' having had both the drugs.
