Blemish rash/spots on face

I’ve had some kind of blemish/rash/spots on one side of my face for about 2 months now.

Originally thought flared up because I had been unwell, but now concerned that they’ve not yet gone.

Some days they look more angry in appearance. A couple were a bit flakey peely over the weekend. They don’t hurt but sometimes my face feels itchy.

I don’t tend to wear make up or use much products on my face so don’t think it’s a reaction to products.

Am reaching perimenopause age so wondering if linked to that.

Does anyone else have similiar? Not seen Dr as figured they would say wasting their time.

Could it be a reaction to hair products?

Seeker2 · 11/03/2025 00:50

That’s actually a good suggestion as I do react to a number of hair products. However would have thought my scalp would have reacted if it was that.

True. Just wondered as I had a rash from conditioner once and it was only on my face (or I only noticed it on my face). Or some things you just scrunch into the ends etc. Hope you get sorted!

It looks very much like the perioral / periocular dermatitis I get

I second this - a mild case but it does look like how mine begins. You could try some azelaic acid and see if it clears it up.

Thank you I’ve not heard of this, so will pop into chemist to see if can get some azelaic acid.
