Weirdest flu ever?

Disclaimer: i already saw a dr today, and am on a wait-and-see. Just curious to see if this is as unusual as i think it is

I’m currently suffering from severe muscle pain. It’s bad when I move, and today (day 3) has lead to limited use of my hands. I can barely bear weight and can’t hold a pen. It started with chills, a temp and a sore throat and was improving in the day with paracetamol but now it’s not cutting it. Weirdly though, I otherwise feel fine. Can this really be flu? Achy neck, jaw, arms, hands, legs primarily but mostly on moving and when just sat still i could fool myself im fine.

Starting to worry it could be something a bit more untoward. I have a 20mo and rest away from her is limited and she’s already so upset i can’t pick her up etc.

I've never had flu but this genuinely sounds like normal flu from what friends have told me

DC1 had something very similar sounding just after Christmas, it really hit him hard and scared him, poor lad is only 13. Give it some time, I hope you feel better soon.

So weird I have something similar but thought I had pulled something but then it spread and I’m thinking surely I can’t have pulled this many somethings! I have wrist, arm, neck, shoulder pain as well as what feels like Doms in my calves. I have been wondering if it’s a bug

I've had something that sounds very similar. Terrible aching joints, even my toes hurt, temperature and a really, really awful sore throat. No typical cold symptoms. It lasted about 8 days and even though I felt dreadful, my brain/head felt fine, if you know what I mean.
Unfortunately as soon as the acute stage ended the post viral misery began. Brain fog, exhaustion, nausea etc.

It's 3 weeks since I felt acutely unwell but it's been a real slog. Exactly the same happened last time I had flu years ago.

I'd get some Floradix or similar at the ready and be prepared for weeks of very early nights OP.

I’ve had something similar, viral myalgia was all it was called which is muscle pain. Felt fine otherwise. It lasted about a week.

I had similar 2 summers ago.
Started as cold symptoms, but after a few days my joints and muscles were extremely heavy, I couldn't put one foot in front of the other, the aching was awful.
Knocked me for a good 2 weeks.

I just wondered how you are now OP? As I have awful muscle ache symptoms that sound very similar and not sure if it’s flu or Covid or something else.
