Below is the wording from th0
“Sections show a unilscular cystic structure lined by squamous epithelium. There is extensive surrounding fibrosis with associated chronic inflammation. Areas of xanthogranulomatous inflammation with cholesterol clefts and giant cells are present. The features are consistent with an inflamed branchial cleft cyst. There is no evidence of dysplasia or malignancy. Part of an adjacent reactive lymph node is also included”
I was pretty poorly with flu like symptoms for 1 year (fine now) no one can answer why, do you think it could be from the above? I had a cyst removed from my neck (branchial cleft cyst) and soon after my symptoms went.
it says chronic inflammation, so does that mean I have been suffering with chronic inflammation because of the cyst? Or because I have just have chronic inflammation?
I did see a doctor after my operation to discuss the results but he didn't say much and didn’t feel my flu like symptoms were linked, however since seeing the report, I’m thinking surely chronic inflammation can make you feel flu like, and multiple infections.
