Rash on breast

Just looking for some advice really.

I woke up this morning to notice a rash on my breast, as far as I can see the rash doesn't appear any where else on my body. I've not changed any washing powder or shower products. As far as I can feel there doesn't appear to be any lumps. The only thing I've noticed recently is kind of like a shooting pain my breast I wouldn't say it's painful, a tad uncomfortable but isn't persistent just comes and goes. I don't know if it's me but in some places it does appear slightly bruised colouring.

Has anyone experienced this sort of rash just on their breast before, how long would you leave it to see if it goes away before consulting with a doctor?

Could be shingles if its just one side of your body

Looks like you’ve scratched it and brought blood to the surface. I’d see what happens over the next few days.

Shingles?

Shingles?

I wouldn't actually know the symptoms of shingles, do you generally get unwell before the rash appears? I'm feeling absolutely OK in myself, I've read quickly usually shingles is a painful rash however this isn't causing any pain or itching. I'm just going to have to keep an eye on it, and if not any improvement within a few days, have it checked out.

Looks like shingles. I had shingles on breast, which then spread under armpit and little on back. Shingles burns, and awful stabbing pains, that would come and go, well it did in my case!!
Very painful! I didn't realise mine was shingles, thought it was possibly excema at first, but no excema cream helped so saw doctor who gave me antivirals for shingles.

I've had marks like that before and it's usually where something has (gross as it sounds) accidentally fallen into my bra, like crumbs and it irritates, you don't realise till you've taken your bra off. That's what it looks like to me. It doesn't look like shingles and it's not usually where shingles typically manifests. It's usually along nerve pathways

I've had another look and I definitely think it looks like a contact rash/irritation. I don't think it looks like a viral/systemic rash if that makes sense

I would make an appointment to see your gp as soon as you can. If it hasn't cleared or seems to be improving by Monday I'd phone them.

The odds are that it's nothing serious but having recently (as in still ongoing) been through the process of having to be referred to the breast clinic about a lump, it was five weeks in total before I got seen as multiple appointments were cancelled due to staff going on sick leave.

I was told by my gp that there doesn't have to be a lump for it to be taken seriously and that any skin changes to the breast should be checked out because a rash and/or dimpled orange peel looking skin should be checked.
