I have this mole on my foot that started off as a freckle. We went on lots of sun holidays when I was younger (33 now) i definitely got sun burnt a few times. I didn't know you should be worried if they are raised or change shape which this definitely has. Looking for some advice, or useful insights.

Book to see the GP, they will either be able to reassure you or will refer to dermatology for examination/biopsy/removal.

MIL had similar

went to GP around may 24 who said he was sure it was nothing but would refer anyway as standard cautious proceure.

They thought it was nothing but decided to remove it anyway just in case

Lab results came back the actually it was a cancer

They were sure they had it all, but as it was cancer they now had to chop more of the foot away as standard. Again told not to worry, its standard and all seems fine.

Had that procedure done.

Then tests showed it had gone to lymph node.

Thankfully it has spread no further and she is just beginning 1 course of chemo (or is it radio?) therapy just in case there is a single cell still there. (It's her choice to have this extra therapy but she is choosing to have it)

Please get it checked out....

At no point has any medical proffessional believed that this small mark / mole / freckle thing on her foot was anything sinister but actually it was and has been caught just in time

If it's grown get it checked. It may well be fine. But if not, then you can have it removed / treated.
