You might lose weight but it is not sustainable and will mess up your metabolism so you are likely to end up weighing more.

I did juices only at my retreat and it is sustainable as you aren't starving yourself as you have all calories and vitamins you need. I didn't put the weight back on.

I am sure it won't be just carrot juice, will it? Was OP not saying that for effect?

I have done 3 fasting detoxes. All slightly different but all packed with many vitamins and minerals and certainly not lacking in any nutrients. Various juices and broths throughout the day but no food. Incredibly I didn't feel hungy, felt absolutely amazing at the end and shed 7lbs ( which was a nice aside and not the reason for going). It also cleared up a veruca and fungal infection on my foot. I dont see it so much as a 'detox' as giving your body a rest and a chance to heal itself. OP, assume your aren't really just drinking carrot juice as that is actually high in fruit sugars and will play havoc with your glucose levels. Good luck with it, I am sure you will feel fanastic at the end. ( be prepared for lots of tears on day 3, detoxes detox minds as well as bodies and day 3 seems to make everyone weep !)

be very very careful

dh went to one in Wilshire a few years back

detox and treatments

he fainted after a bath and came round but couldn't move for 45mins.

No one came to look for him

NEVER AGAIN

Yes, as betroot says, you have to be careful where you go as many have jumped on the bandwagon.Sorry to hwar about your DH Beetroot, how traumatic.

You will go orange/yellow

A friend of mine had a serious post-natal carrot addiction -she was eating a couple of bags of them a day (but would have happily eaten more) and turned orange.

She even went to the GP about it as she was worried about how addicted she was -all the GP said was " well, it could be worse, you could be addicted to cream cakes"

However, back to the OP -there are better ways to detox, surely?

Mousemole has the idea of what it is about .... thanks for all your concerns though ...I will let you know what it was like on my return.
