CT scan results - wait times?

Hi all

I have a CT scan today of my chest.

Does anyone know roughly how long wait times are for results? The hospital requested it so does that mean my GP won't get the results?

Generally speaking in the NHS, if it's bad news it travels fast.
Good news takes forever and is told in a non urgent clinic slot.

GP may or may not get the results. Also there are procedures to stop people getting bad news by opening scan results on the NHS app.

If bad news probably a couple of weeks or so. Good news maybe 2 months. A quick way to get the result is to put in a request to see recent medical records. I di this and got MRI results the day after they were reported on. The hospital website should give details of how to access your patient records.

Here in Shropshire it's up to 12 weeks.

My DP had a CT this morning and was told his results after two hours, he was told
to wait for them.

How long is a piece of string, basically. I was told I had a brain tumour about a week after my CT.

Seems it varies a lot!
