Colonography Results

Hi all,

I posted before Christmas about horrendous bleeding from my bottom.

I had a flexible sigmoidoscopy on Christmas Eve, which then resulted in me needing a CT Colonography mid February on the two week wait referral (for various reasons, I couldn't schedule the procedure in for a few weeks post the 2 week dead line so the process took much longer than I wanted).

I chased the results last week, was told someone would call and the fact I 'hadn't heard quickly' was a good thing.

I heard nothing so I called again today. The secretary repeated what she said about not hearing quickly is a good sign and said the paperwork had been sent to the consultant and I'd probably receive the results in the post.

Around 2 hours after this call, I received a text telling me I have a face to face appointment with the consultant early next week.

I'm absolutely crapping myself.

I'd convinced myself getting results in the post was them saying everything was okay, now I've got visions of walking into this appointment and the cancer nurses being sat there...

Has anyone had an appointment after a procedure like this and the outcome was okay?

Is the consultant likely to want to see me if nothing sinister has been found?

Sorry, I'm rambling but terrified and looking for hope x

Oh gosh, that's really tough. Sorry you're experiencing this worry and the symptoms, and that you've had to chase!

No advice or experience, but I do have empathy!

Oh I hate it when that happens!
Yes, of course it may be "something", just the same as it may not be.
If it is any consolation at all, my DH had this experience (though with a prostate MRI) and his Urologist called him in rapidly for a F2F - in this case because everything was OK & he didn't want my relatively young DH worrying!
So please don't stress about this, there's actually nothing you can do other than wait, difficult though that is. If further investigation or treatment is needed, you'll get it; if it's a reassurance meeting then fantastic, it's the best result!
Best wishes Flowers
