Worried about mole

Hi, just looking for second opinions on this mole on my back as I’m a bit worried about it. Background - I have lots of moles and freckles on my back and had 3 removed aged 17, and have recently realised I should have been monitoring for changes more carefully but haven’t because life has got in the way a bit.

i was in the shower yesterday and accidentally caught the mole and realised it was bleeding - so I don’t know if it’s just that I scratched it or it was raised and had changed in some way and was already more likely to bleed if that makes sense? Either way I’m worried but I sent pics to docs this morning and they can’t see me for 2 weeks. I’m a bit of a worrier but this seems like a bit of a wait to me!

would be grateful for any thoughts or opinions, thanks!

I would go and have them checked.

Thank you, definitely going to but just wondered if two weeks was ok. I’m sure it’s fine.

I’ve just been to the doctor and been referred to the dermatologist under the two week wait, with the words ‘suspected skin cancer’ flashing up on the screen. Trying not to worry but I’m spiralling a bit. I got quite badly sunburnt on my back a few years ago and now really worrying.

All good thank you! It was actually one of the more positive experiences I’ve had with the NHS. I was seen quickly, they weren’t too concerned but said it would be best to have it removed - all done within a few weeks and got the results back a few weeks later - all fine. I also pushed for a referral to dermatology as I have a lot of moles and fair skin and that has been really positive - they did a full mole check, sent me for photography of a few they want to keep an eye on and will now have regular review. So all in all it’s been positive. Off on holiday next week and have invested in swimsuits with sleeves! I will be much more cautious now.

That's great news 😀 Especially that it was all sorted so quickly. I'm a bit concerned about a mole on my back. Will book an appointment Tuesday x
