Which yogurt?

Can anyone recommend a flavoured yogurt that's low in sugar, high in protein and not fat free?

Greek Yoghurt

Lidl has a big range of high protein yoghurt. My ds buys the larger tubs of them and adds his own ingredients

Lidl do a 5% fat Greek yoghurt that has a reasonable protein content.
Id avoid anything marketed as ‘high protein’ as they are usually full of sweeteners and additives.

strained greek yogurt

Ds gets this one from lidl. Doesn't have added sugar or sweeteners. Think there's a couple of flavours

What is strained greek yogurt? Is it bad?

Greek yogurt, 10% is my favourite. Don't pay ££ for something branded high protein, they're all high protein. Why would it be bad?

The tub i showed from lidl is 99p. That's not expensive at all for the size of tub

I buy Aldi 10 percent Greek yogurt. It's £1.89. It's not flavoured but I buy frozen blueberries and put them in and it's absolutely delicious.

It is just yoghurt that has been strained to remove some of the liquid so it becomes thicker.
It’s not better or worse than any other yoghurt.

Stupid question, but here goes..

Do you defrost the blueberries first? If so, how long do they take?

I don't because I have mine at lunchtime and it's absolutely perfect by then. So they just go in to a container on top of the yogurt.

My dh has his at breakfast and he rinses them in warm water in a seive to take the edge off.

I second this, this yogurt is amazing - add blueberries and raspberries for added points

Another vote for Greek yoghurt, but the strained Greek yoghurt not that more liquid one. I like Fage, but also all the own brand ones I've had seem nice.

I have the Yeo valley natural yoghurt (not fat free) because I like the taste.

Get yourself Greek yoghurt (not Greek STYLE yoghurt) and add your own frozen berries or honey for flavour.

I like Longley Farm brand yoghurts.
I like them because they are made of yoghurt, fruit and sugar. The yoghurt is live, there's no thickeners or preservatives or other gubbjns.

They are also quite local, but do sell through big supermarkets.
Their cottage cheese is delicious, and that is an unusual thing to say about cottage cheese.

I won’t buy any other cottage cheese. Longley farm cottage cheese is elite.

No it's nothing to do with the location of the milk.

It's the process. Greek yogurt is made in a certain way and is strained to achieve the thick texture.

Greek style yogurt is yogurt that mimics the thick texture of Greek yogurt but it gets the texture from methods other than straining. By the addition of thickening agents.

Longley farm cottage cheese is the creme de la creme. The Black Cherry and the Rhubarb yoghurts are sublime. Their Greek Yoghurt with honey is off the charts.

Greek yoghurt had to be made in Greece from Greek ingredients but I don't know if it changed with Brexit, there was a load of articles about it

Aldi Greek style is just yoghurt, nothing else in it but made in the UK

It's just whichever you prefer the taste of, there is no different ingredients in them generally

Morrisons the best 10%fat greek yogurt. Very good, thick, creamy and mild. Better even than Fage greek yogurt and that's saying something
