MRI Waiting Time NHS

Hi, just wondered how long the current wait times are for an MRI? I’m Midlands based. Contemplating paying (cent really afford to but need to find out what’s wrong to try and limit time off work which would cost me) private but just wondered if anyone has any recent experience.

Mine was 6 weeks from a referral by a physio. North west.

My mum saw her GP on 6th Feb. MRi was yesterday so 3 weeks in east lancs. It may have been quicker but for needing a hospital based scan rather than an external provider.

Depends what it's for, a potential malignancy days to short weeks otherwise who knows! It will depend on the pressure on the service in your area.

Got my appointment today and it will have been three weeks from go referral which they have told me has been fast tracked so who knows what it might have been otherwise!

Within a week here for a non urgent nhs mri. That was the case for me and two people I know recently.

Northern Ireland. I'm on the urgent list and have been told it will be several months before they get to me as there are 7k people waiting. Meanwhile, I'm on a two week pathway for a colonoscopy and was offered a slot April at a different hospital. Be grateful you're not here.
