My dad is 83 and he's so poorly at the moment and has been for three weeks now.
I made him go to the GP on Thursday, (he didn't want to go) I went in with him and the GP didn't bother to take his temperature or blood pressure but he did dip a urine sample. He ordered blood tests and the results should be back on Monday. The urine sample just showed he wasn't eating, nothing else.
He's lost 7lbs, isn't eating, he is drinking large amounts of fluids, going to the toilet a lot, and has diarrhea.
He is shivering, he can't get warm even though the room was 22, he said he's happiest in bed and is sleeping all night and is then asleep on the sofa all day.
I did a blood glucose finger prick test on him today as I was thinking diabetes and it was 6.5, that's with no food, which I think is normal isn't it.
He will not go to hospital, he spent two weeks in hospital last year with sepsis, and it took his 16 year old granddaughter crying for him to agree to go in the ambulance. He said if he goes in again he'll die in there.
I know he can't be diagnosed on here but I just need a handhold until we can get to the bottom of what's wrong.
