19 day cycle

Since having DS just over 2 years ago (well since my periods restarted just over 1 years ago) my cycles have been quite a lot shorter than they were before babies, quite regular around the 24/25 day mark. However I now seem to have a surprise period starting on Day 19 of my cycle. I'm nearly 40 so guess my body is changing but is this normal? Never had a cycle so short!

My periods got shorter in peri menopause, and I ended up anaemic due to bleeding more, so keep an eye on your iron.
It is also the time your thyroid can play up, so asking the GP to check it wouldn’t be wrong. And it’s worth asking to check B12 as well.

Thank you! It feels a bit of a silly thing to see the GP over but it's helpful to know what to ask for.

Same thing happened to me at about that. Eventually I had 14 day cycles with 7 days of bleeding and 7 days of not bleeding. A Mirene coil sorted me out. After a few months of almost constant but light bleeding, I had no bleeding at all until it was nearing its end of life. I had it replaced and went back to the total absence of periods.
