So I had my gallbladder removed in 2021. Over the years I have occasionally experienced achy gnawing pains for a few days which have passed. Last Friday I had this again but it has not got better. In fact it has got more constant and I have had a couple of awful nights of agony. Seen doc and been put on buscopan which is helping abit expect now I have pain and burning in right shoulder and back. Worse after eating and lying down. Waiting on bloods. Has any one experienced similar? It's horrible as it's almost exactly like the symptoms I had before they removed my gallbladder minus the vomiting and degree of pain.

Yes, I have the same and, like you, minus vomiting.

Any idea what the cause is?

No, I had another scan. All clear. Going back to GP Monday.

I’d get the pancreas checked

Yes l had a liver lesion.. ( can happen after having gallbladder removed) l was hospitalised and on IV antibiotics for 3 weeks.

Moier · 28/02/2025 20:26

P.S.. the pain was worse and more wide spread than the gallbladder/ stones pain.

I think it can just be your body reacting to certain foods. My last episode was after a cream tea.

God...it's bloody awful isn't it. I have had ages with no issues at all. Are your bloods OK?

Same. They've put me on omeprazole temporarily

Yes, generally. Slightly high triglycerides but nothing sinister.

I'm resigned to being permanently anxious.

I started a similar thread last week by the way. I am happy I had the gallbladder out but fed up that it hasn't resolved everything.
