Statins and diabetes.

My husband's GP has suggested he go on statins.He has borderline high cholesterol levels.Dh has read there is a risk of developing level two diabetes from doing so.Does anyone have experience of this issue?Thank you

About 5 in 100 people who take a statin will get type 2 diabetes.

For 1 of those 5 people, the diabetes is due to the statin. For the other 4 people, they would have got diabetes regardless of whether they took a statin.
