Dental Abcess

So I am due to go to the dentist on the 17th as my tooth has basically broken and I only have a bit of it left. I think I now have an abcess because I have a lump in the gum above it but it’s not really that painful as I have had root canal on that tooth before, the abcess has made my cheek kind of numb like the feeling you have when you have an injection.

I am fine to wait as it’s not causing much pain but I just read about people getting sepsis from an abcess and it’s freaking me out.

When I've had an abcess they've been extremely painful, like paracetamol and ibuprofen don't stop it hurting when pressure is put on the gum.

Yeah it has been aching but not agony and ibuprofen has taken the edge off. I think it most be an abcess as it’s quite a big lump right above the broken tooth.

I am just worried it’s going to turn in to dental sepsis before my appointment.

I would call the dentist and let them know what's going on.
