its not urgent im just nosey really - and curious lol

under the triage bit it has whats wrong then says this -

p=107
bp=120/75
rr=16
sat=99
bm=5.8

ok so bp is ovb blood pressure. it also has the GCS which is obv glasgow coma scale and has the break down of the elements of that which i understand.

Is BM the blood glucose thing?

No idea what p is...could it be pulse? or is that too obvious? lol

sat - is that oxygen levels?

go on put me out my misery lol

OP posts:
wrinklytum · 10/05/2008 23:46

BM blood sugar
p PULSE,YEP!!
Sat -Oxygen saturations

wrinklytum · 10/05/2008 23:47

PS all normal,pulse a tad high but nowt massively worrying

sparklyfairypie · 10/05/2008 23:47

ooh thanks do you know RR?

also whats BIBA?

and HX?

OP posts:
sallyforth · 10/05/2008 23:48

In America BM means bowel motion, though.
This can lead to some transatlantic confusion.

sparklyfairypie · 10/05/2008 23:49

lol sally i deffo didnt do 5.8 BMs while in hosp ;)

OP posts:
popstar · 10/05/2008 23:51

RR= respiratory rate, Hx= history, BIBA=?

Dragonbutter · 10/05/2008 23:51

RR is respiratory rate
Hx is History

wrinklytum · 10/05/2008 23:52

RR respiratory rate

You've got me with BIBA and HX anything to put in context with???,this will bug me now.(I do't work in Cas

Unless hx is short for history,docs sometimes use dx for diagnosis...

This WILL bug me now....BIBA.....

sparklyfairypie · 10/05/2008 23:52

figured out biba might mean brought in by ambulance?

thanks pop star

before hx it says 5/52

OP posts:
NutterlyUts · 10/05/2008 23:52

RR is respiration rate

Tx is treatment, dx is diagnosis so for hx it would depend on context I think

Dragonbutter · 10/05/2008 23:52

5 weeks

sparklyfairypie · 10/05/2008 23:53

see wrinkly its frustrating isnt it haha. i want to know whats they have wrote about me. and google is useless.

OP posts:
Dragonbutter · 10/05/2008 23:54

a five week history of 'symptoms'

sparklyfairypie · 10/05/2008 23:58

haha they must have made half of it up then 5 week history is wrong and it also says i vomited 2x this evening - also wrong.

oh well

thanks for putting me out my misery

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 11/05/2008 00:00

BIBA=Brought in by ambulance
Hx= history
RR = respiration rate
Sats= Oxygen saturation rate

sparklyfairypie · 11/05/2008 00:04

yay scottish so i was right on the biba thing.

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 11/05/2008 00:06

Aye!anyhow are you okay?

ScienceTeacher · 11/05/2008 00:11

Pulse - 107
Blood prssure - 120/75
Respiration rate - 16 breaths per minute
Oxygen saturation = 99% oxygen

don't know about BM.

Apart from the pulse rate, everything else looks great! 107 pulse is very high - perhaps a bit nervous for being in A&E?

sparklyfairypie · 11/05/2008 00:15

maybe my pulse was racing from the paramedica car man, he was quite fit. sadly the ambulance man who took over wasnt

not bad ta scottish just lazing in bed now. enjoyed some nice gas and air earlier...think i could buy some?! hosp was crazy though cos of the football earlier, blardy drunks - was quite amusing to watch them though

hows you?

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 11/05/2008 00:30

Cool Thanks but offsky to ma kip just finished my wine and have seen Shaun of the dead too many times

BM has many meanings = Bowel movement, bone marrow but since they attributed a value to it im saying Blood glucose, which is a range of values (differs after a meal)

BM stands for Boehringer Mannheim

sparklyfairypie · 11/05/2008 13:03

ok got another one lol -

under where it has what she found when she felt my tummy it says this -

HS - I + II + ESM

(the h could be 2 II s with a line through)

could be Is or 1s not sure.

if anyone gets this one then i will give you a cuddle with my rabbit?

OP posts:
emma1977 · 11/05/2008 16:30

HS = Heart sounds
This bit means that they could hear your 1st and 2nd heart sounds (lub dub) normally and that you have a type of heart murmur called an ejection systolic murmur.
