Phlegm - sorry this is horrible!

Wondering if anyone can shed any light on this and apologies it is a little gross!

I have just recovered from a really bad cold/flu. I had severe congestion for about 12 days and a blocked ear, eventually it lifted without the need for antibiotics. However a few days after I felt better, I started to feel extreme pressure in my sinus area (forehead and underneath my eyes) despite not having a blocked nose. My nose started running a little but I can taste a horrible taste from the phlegm. I can also smell it when I blow my nose. What on earth is that?! I'm paranoid my breath will smell of it?

For context, I have had two similar bouts of cold at the end of last year that I took 2 antibiotics for. I didn't want to get another as I'm worried too many will kill my immune system completely. I also got a blocked ear swimming in early October that I could never clear so I'm wondering is it all linked?

I do have a doctors appointment tomorrow thankfully but this is gross and I'm dreading going to work later even though aside from the phlegm I feel ok!

Mucus from a sinus infection stuck in your sinus but occasionally running down into your throat?

I had a bunch of colds last when my kids started daycare that kept turning into sinus, ear or chest infections afterwards. The doctor gave me some flixonase and a nasal rinse to try and keep my nose clear when I got a cold so the mucus didn't lodge up in the sinuses. I think it worked for keeping everything a bit clearer.

Can you try a sinus rinse? Not very pleasant, but will flush it all out and try and get to the route of the problem

You need a sinus rinse

I bought the Neilmed sinus rinse and have done it twice today but so far not much difference?
I reckon as first PP said I'm just picking up everything from DD nursery! Odd that I have gotten rid of the cough and stuffy nose symptoms but still left with this awful phlegm!

Try face steam to help the mucus out
