Sore under breast in crease

What's the best thing to use to relieve or ideally do away with, the sore red area developing in the crease between breast and body? As I only very infrequently wear a bra, and sit a lot for work, and am aging, this area is suffering and I have no idea what to try.

Sudacreme?

It could be a fungal infection - try canestan cream (the athletes foot one).

SwanOfThoseThings · 27/02/2025 08:35

Yes, I use Sudocrem - apply straight after washing and drying - always clears it quite quickly.

Tahcnibor · 27/02/2025 08:38

Yes it will be a fungal infection, it's known as intertrigo. You need an antifungal cream from the chemist. Go and talk to them

Cuppachuchu · 27/02/2025 08:39

It could be a fungal thing, in which case Daktacort used sparingly.

Weddingbutterfly · 27/02/2025 08:41

Use the over the counter ( on Tesco shelves) atheletes foot cream there’s two strengths both work and improvement is almost immediate

As others have said it fungal , basically its a sweat rash .
I'm assuming you have big boobs , it's where they sweat where the skin touches each other . You say you don't wear a bra very often , that's not helping .
Try to air them as often as possible by lying down , keep that area as dry as possible ( medicated non talc powder ) during the day , and a suitable cream at night .

insomniaclife · 27/02/2025 09:15

That's great advice and options thank you all (am off to the chemist now)

I get it occasionally in Summer/warm weather. I swear by Daktarin powder.

WillIEverBeOk · 27/02/2025 10:23

I have extremely large breasts unfortunately and sweat, red, sore weepy rashes is something I am more than familiar with and have been for decades. Talcum powder rubbed in and re-applied regularly works wonders.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 27/02/2025 10:25

I had this recently, first I tried sudocrem then hydrocortisone cream then thrush cream. The latter two did it.
Get some stretchy "sports bras" if you don't wear a bra.

PuppyMonkey · 27/02/2025 12:11

I suffer from this and use my own hydrocortisone and Caneston athlete’s foot cream mix as recommended above. Works a treat. Make sure you try to wear cotton tops and bras is my advice.

Well you don't have to be familiar with it...get yourself some antifungal cream!
