I had conjunctivitis last week in both eyes, which with drops cleared up. Now the drops and rubbing my eye have caused my left eye to have a corneal erosion, which has been confirmed by hostipal and opticians. What is now worrying me is both eyes are struggling to open, even the eye that’s fine, it feels heavy and just keeps shutting, therefore both eyes I keep having to keep shut.
please let me know if anyone else has experienced this.
thank you

You need to go back to your gp. The heavy eye lids and eyes shutting may be a completely unrelated problem. How is your vision?

Don't go back to your go go back to the ophthalmology department. Corneal erosions can be hard to heal. Make sure your drops do not contain benzalkonium chloride or anything similar as it is a preservative and bad for your eyes.

Yes, I agree with previous post, go back to specialist department. My mother gets this frequently, and the hospital doctors give her several ointments to put into her eye, and if it isn’t healing they give her contact lenses to wear for three months until healed. She also gets a lot of inflammation with the erosion, and this might be what is happening to you.
