Terrified after instance of right sided pelvic spotting and tiny bit of pink spotting

Hi,

I have had an instance of pelvic pain and a little pink streak in my discharge on day 12 of my cycle. I thought it might just be ovulation spotting as I definitely seemed to get ovulation symptoms early this month. I mentioned it to the GP and she seemed really worried and referred me for a scan. I really struggle with health anxiety and this has sent me over the edge. I am thinking the worst and have had back pain for a couple of weeks which is adding to my worry.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I’m having a bit of a stressful time anyway.

other important information: I’m breastfeeding my two year old but it’s quite sporadic now (I.e. we will go a few days without breastfeeding then a few days breastfeeding daily)

thank you x

I think it’s likely that, as you mentioned it (mentioned it or the reason for your actual appointment?), they thought you were really worried.
If they were really worried they would have taken swabs and referred under the 2ww which, as you haven’t mentioned, I will assume is not the case? A routine scan could be up to 9 months in our area.
Try not to worry-not easy I know! But it’s likely just ovulation bleeding. Hopefully all is clear when you get your scan. Fingers crossed you don’t have to wait too long Flowers

Thank you so much. I did book the GP appointment straight after seeing the spotting. She referred me for a scan but didn’t say how long the wait would be. She recommended I get a speculum exam just to make sure there isn’t a more local issue, as well as a blood test for hormone levels.
