ds refusing bottle

ds is 6 months old and has a cold since last monday. he has been coughing a lot and since monday has only taken about half of what he would usually have in ounces, he isn't yet eating solids.

this was ok until friday when he started teething again and point blank refused his bottle, wouldn't take it in his mouth but would take a dummy. by midday friday he had only had 3 ounces (usually has about 25 ounces per day). I was really worried so took him to see the doctor who said he had a chest infection but this should clear up of its own accord. he said that if he kept refusing feed he may have to go into hospital.

Obviously this really panicked me ( although the whole time in the doctors ds was laughing and smiling!) Dh and I managed to get him to take 12 ounces in 3 feeds so felt better.

Today he has had 19 ounces which is great but we can only feed him as he is going to sleep for his naps, almost like dream feeds but during the day, otherwise he screams when the bottle comes near him.

My question is (after this long post, sorry!) has anyone else had this with their dc? Will he get back to feeding normally once he's better and over his teething? Very worried!!!

Thankyou!

I remember my two going thro something similar - just keep trying the bottles and hopefully one day real soon he'll gulp the lot and need feeding up for a few days - try not to worry, this bump might get some more responses.
