Vomiting after eating

I had an omelette made with eggs, spinach, cheese and mushrooms.

Almost immediately afterwards my stomach was swollen and I was in pain, then I spent the next few hours vomiting until I fell asleep.

I don't have an allergy to any of those ingredients and the eggs did not smell off. I read up on food poisoning and I think it takes a few hours or even a day for that to kick in.

Any ideas on what happened?

Assuming the food was in date and utensils were clean I would assume norovirus.
It's everywhere.
Get well soon.

Thanks. I've just had a shopping delivery and utensils were clean. Perhaps it's that. I don't feel any other symptoms and now feel a lot better.

Gallstones? If it happens again definitely get checked for this. Normally fatty/oily food is the biggest trigger.

I've looked that up and I don't think so. I will contact my GP if it happens again. I had some toast earlier and feel fine now.

Sounds like an intolerance to me. If your stomach was swollen, painful cramps and then you were sick. Your body is rejecting whatever it is you've eaten. A stomach bug wouldn't kick in as soon as you'd eaten, it takes a few hours at the very least, if not longer. You don't have any other symptoms of a stomach bug either. I have an intolerance to the onion family - garlic, onions (any sort cooked or raw), leeks, chives etc. I have similar symptoms - wind, bloating, stomach pains and am either sick or diarrhoea (usually the latter). Keep a note of what you ate, including any herbs, salt, pepper you used too. Hopefully it's a one off but if it's an intolerance, to something you ate, it will happen again.

It does seem like an intolerance doesn't it? I eat these things a few times a week and have never had this happen before. I'm thinking that it could be the spinach or mushrooms. They are just opened. Maybe a pesticide or something like that.
