Bowel issues - any suggestions?

This is a bit TMI but does anyone have any advice on what this could be/suggestions on what to do?

Last week I had a couple of days I couldn’t stop going to the loo (💩). Like, 5 times in the night kind of thing. Not diahorrrea but fairly loose. I thought I’d eaten something that didn’t agree with me/was having a good clear out.

Going so much gave me piles and now I can’t go properly. I feel I need to go (and have a fair bit of discomfort) but only a tiny bit comes out. I feel incomplete and uncomfortable and quite unwell with it. I’ve got some haemorrhoid cream which is helping a bit but it’s been three or four days now with no real relief.

Is it likely to just be piles or does anyone have ideas about what else could going on? I’ve a history of gut issues and I know there are some foods that don’t work for me but I’m starting to wonder if I need to get investigated. I’ve just moved and not registered yet at a doctor but I don’t even know if this is enough to go to a doctor about.

I can go to the chemist in the morning and thought about getting some haemorrhoid suppositories in case it’s an internal pile. I’d rather not take laxatives as they tend to mess me up but I will if I have to. any other suggestions?

In my old house I’d sit in an Epsom salts bath but we don’t have a bath now unfortunately.

All help welcome, thank you.

I should have said, I’ve name changed for this and I’m not the 💩 troll!

I suffer from the same. I have struggled with IBS-mixed for years and when it turns to diarrhoea it will always flare my haemorrhoids so badly. I had a flare up for the whole of January and my piles were so bad that I started to think I had a rectal prolapse. I tried sitz baths and all the off the shelf haemorrhoid creams but tbh the only thing which helped was prescribed cream.

Thanks @Carwashandthemoog appreciate your answer. Sorry to hear you’ve had similar. It’s really unpleasant.
it didn’t occur to me that there could be other creams on prescription. Time to find a doctor.

The one I used was called Scheriproct, it really did help.
