Physio making things worse

Referred to NHS physio following back pain after an hysteroscopy under general. Dr thinks the positioning trapped a nerve. Things were starting to ease when I got my physio appointment 3 months later. Since then every new set of exercises causes an acute flare up (not just the expected discomfort of starting to work the muscles). The first set was for sciatica and caused a new hip pain. When I went back she then said it was greater trochanteric pain syndrome and gave me more exercises and the day after I couldn't even bend down without being in agony so I stopped those. I went back and its different exercises and swimming. The swimming made my hip pain worse! I will be going private next but I'm minded to refer back to my GP and asked for a proper assessment including a scan. I can't understand how I'm now 100% worse than I was after the op!

Hi OP, I have lots of issues and aches and pains (not from hysteroscopy, but having one of those left me in so much pain I needed codeine).

Have you tried yoga stretches? There is lots of yin yoga online.

Also I got a much better result from an osteopath. It was more of a whole person whole body assessment.

Thanks for your reply. I had a private appointment today and after a full assessment, the issue is all coming from weak and tight glutes. I've been given two very simple stretches to start with as what the other physio gave me was too much I had some back manipulation and a glute massage and everything feels much less irritated. I will certainly look at yoga once it's all settles down. Sorry to hear the hysteroscopy. Awful experience.

I'd suggest an osteopath too.
