outer foot pain

I've just come back from a weekend away where i walked alot over 2 days. At the end of the 2nd day my right outer foot really started to hurt when i was walking. It's not swollen but it's really painful and when i gently squeeze the outer part of mt right foot it feels sore and tender. What could it be? When i'm resting it's fine but when i move my toes it can feel a bit sore. I've had a look on google and it says it could be tendonitis or possibly a stress fracture. Any advice greatly appreciated!

Part of my plantar fasciitis is pain down the outside of the foot so it could be that. Stretching helps but obviously that would be bad for a stress fracture!

Thanks for your reply. I don't think it is a stress fracture and it might be what you suggest. I'm just taking ibuprofen and resting it!
