Intertrigo under breast

Hi all, just looking for some advice on this please. I have sore skin in the skin fold under one breast (the larger one.) This times in with gaining some weight, so I’m guessing that is what has caused skin to rub more. I ignored it for some time thinking it was heat rash/friction related, it also wasn’t causing a huge amount of discomfort and I sort of forgot about it but caught sight of it in the bathroom mirror while wearing my glasses and it looks bad!

There is a big patch of discolouration, plus redness, scaly flaky skin and it’s mildly itchy/sore. I am a heavy sweater unfortunately. Can anyone recommend what over the counter treatment they used that helped? I’m worried about it spreading or my partner catching it so wanted to try something already tried & tested. Thanks!

I had a recent issue and had daktarin to fix it which it did but it was diagnosed as thrush. It was very red but didn't itch.

I've been using liquid 'talc' since which helps.

Any antifungal.

You need an anti fungal cream. Going forwards, use a medicated talc after showering and it will help keep it at bay. I use Medipure (it’s about £1 from Home Bargains) and haven’t suffered since!

I use Daktarin 2% if you can get it as it contains hydrocortisone, but that hasn't been available here in Ireland for a while, so Daktarin 1% and a tube of hydrocortisone and mix them both in a tub with a lid and apply it 3 times a day thinly to the affected area.
