Protecting sinuses in cold weather (sinus pain yet no congestion)

I feel tired and have sinus pain and ear ache but - quite significantly - no congestion. It seems to correspond to the cold UK weather we’re currently experiencing and through online research, looks like my sinuses could be dry and inflamed as a result. I am steaming and using a saline spray 2-3 times a day and wrapping a scarf around face when outside. Considering doing same indoors as air feels ‘dry’. Anyone else have similar experiences / remedy recommendations? How long until I see improvements? Been 2 weeks now…
looking at forecast , no let up of cold weather anytime soon

Drink lots of hot herbal/fruit tea.

I have to use steroid spray. Nothing else works. Been about 3 weeks now and I have given up hoping it’ll sort itself out and have got a prescription from the GP.

Thank you for your reply. Did you have similar symptoms - sinus pain but no congestion? Do you know what caused it?

@Dingbats25 yes. This is the second time this has happened to me over winter. I literally woke up one day with my entire face hurting, banging headache. Even my scalp was painful to the touch. Previous occurrences also caused dizziness and associated nausea. It was not fun.

steroid spray helps with the inflammation, I try to use it as little as possible but I wear glasses and it really hurts to have the weight of them across my nose.
