Missed period for 38 days, not pregnant…

Hi, for abit of backstory im 21, came off the implant February 2024 and have had regular periods every 21-30 days since then until recently… whilst trying to conceive I have unexpectedly missed 2 periods without getting pregnant 🤔. For the first month, I was getting what I thought were cramps in my left side of my ovaries however this feeling has long gone. All pregnancy tests are negative (I’ve checked EVERY SINGLE DAY) 😥 I’ve gone to the doctors last month and they fobbed me off and said it’s not until the third period is missed that I need to go back. I had bloods and they all came back fine. I’ve got an appointment tomorrow but was wondering if anyone has been in my boat and should I be worried? Should I stand up for myself to the doctors too? HELP! Xx

I would have said that hormonal birth control can mess with your periods up to a year after you stop them, but it is strange that things have been regular-ish until now.

You said your cycle has been 21-30 days long - was that variation normal for you before the implant? A couple of days either side is normal but a 9 day difference is on the large side.

Apart from pregnancy, some of the explanations that jump to mind are weight loss, stress, over-exercising. There will be others I'm sure.

Yes that was regular for me before birth control. Thing is, is that nothing has changed in my life, im not stressed out, I’ve not changed the way I exercise and I’ve not had any weight loss or weight gain. Im a little worried lol.

Worth going to your appointment and pushing for some more investigation then 🙂 Hope it goes well!
