Lumpy breast.

Hi, I know no one can diagnose me but just wanting to hear some similar stories. I had a dr appointment today as I’ve been having a bit of pain in my breast, not agonising but enough to notice, the nurse said that I had quite lumpy breast but this was common for woman of my age, early 30s, she said she can feel 2 lumps, so will refer me to the hospital, she did also add she really didn’t think it was anything to worry about. Within 2 hours I had a call from the hospital and an appointment. This sounds rushed like something must be wrong. Just wanted to know if anyone being through any thing similar.

It sounds like they are referring you quickly which in my experience of this happening to friends is very common, and usually turns out to be cysts x

Sounds like standard procedure, not worrying, and great you can be checked.

I've got "lumpy" breasts since in my 20s and it's a mix of fibroadenomas and cysts.

This is standard for all breast lumps. It's a 2 week pathway due to the possibility of it being dodgy but it usually isn't. I've been referred twice (lumpy boobs here too). I have a large fibroadenoma in my left and also have duct ectasia in my right. The left one was biopsied so don't be alarmed if they want to do that either. This is actually one area of the NHS that usually works really well.

Thank you for your replies it’s so hard not to worry, and I think especially when they work so quickly as normally it’s not the case!

Hi! Thank you for asking! It turned out that the lumps were just hormonal lumps, a dr checked me and then I was scanned. Ironically I’ve not actually had any breast pain since so I wonder if it was infact my body settling down after having a baby. X
