Hi
I have had pain in the mid right of my back for well over a year now. About 18 months ago I was diagnosed with NAFLD so I've always put it down to that even though my Dr promised that fatty liver doesn't cause pain. Google says it does so I'm not concerned. However in the last few weeks the pain has become much more severe. It tends to occur mostly in the evening but I've noticed if I make an effort to eat lunch it will start earlier. I am overweight but eat a pretty good diet overall and after a recent poor mental health episode I am more active than I was. The pain used to be an ache, like I'd overdone things and had tweaked a muscle. It's now stabbing and more like very severe contractions. They can last anything from 2 seconds to about 20 and they literally take my breath away. I make an involuntary moan and can't move and then it's gone. Sometimes I get one pain and sometimes they'll go on and off for 5 minutes
Now I know nobody here is allowed to give true medical advice so (as life is ridiculously busy at the moment) does anyone else with a fatty liver have this pain? If so, how do you manage it? No painkiller touches it. If not, just let me know I'm a weirdo and I will make serious efforts to get it checked out properly ASAP. Just don't want to waste anybody's time if its a normal fatty liver thing.
Thanks for reading

So I didn't make it to the GP but the pain got so severe my mum wanted me to call an ambulance the other day. So off I trot to A&E after it had eased slightly. Codeine did nothing. The consultant said sounded more like a kidney stone so I had the diclofenac and IV paracetamol and blood tests and a CT scan and a chest xray. All NAD.

So now it's a mystery. I got sent home with some trimethoprim and cocodamol. I didn't take my elvanse yesterday in case it was that, and I had very little pain. Today, got the pain again when something slightly stressful occurred. So before I call the ADHD team and my GP tomorrow does anyone, please god anyone at all, have any ideas of what might be wrong with me and what I need to ask the GP to do or to look for specifically??
