My hospital has confirmed I have gallstones went to hospital Xmas day after I had been vomiting and diarrhoea for for a week I also had jaundice and was extremely tired. I had an mri and was sent home had to push to get results as no follow up. It turned out I had an infection that they didn't tell me about. I only found out after complaining to pals as I couldnt get any information despite speaking to many receptionists. Finally have got a pre-op booked for Thursday for an endoscopy. During this time I have been off work as I work in a place that involves heavy lifting and I'm in pain most of the time. Has anyone else had this at all? Did you get a good result. I'm worried about my job and what will happen next

Sending solidarity OP. Currently in hospital with jaundice and a deranged liver result and waiting on MRI results (surgeon is thinking a gall stone has become lodged in my bile duct).

Hoping your op goes well!

I had an ultrasound July 2024 which showed gallstones, referred to general surgery and was given and appt for March 2025.
3 weeks ago I was having an attack which felt more severe and just different, went to drive to work but decided I couldn't go and drive to A and E, I was diagnosed with pancreatitis and was admitted for 5 days. On the 4th day I had my gallbladder removed and I am home now recovering.

Have they treated your infection, maybe your GP could prescribe antibiotics.

Have you tried buscopan and peppermint tea, these used to help me with an attack and a hot water bottle.

I didn't know I had an infection until 4 weeks after. I had bloods taken Friday and they were better. I only found out because I complained to pals on the Tuesday so no antibiotics so lucky for me it didn't get worse. They didn't keep me in just sent me home. Yes I drink peppermint tea all the time but hot water bottle not so good because of menopause. I'm so pleased they removed it for you I don't think they take me seriously however I was very confused when I went to hospital so I couldn't at the time advocate for myself
