Post uterine ablation

Hi
I had a uterine ablation on the 4th of February. I had it under local anaesthetic. Procedure itself was fine however after returning home I was doubled over in pain had a temperature and was vomiting. I was taken into hospital by ambulance that evening where I was admitted administered a lot of pain relief. By the morning the pain was bearable. I no longer had a temperature and I was discharged just after lunch.

We are now one week on and today I’m just feeling exhausted and totally fatigued. I just wondered if anyone else had felt like this. Yesterday I had no attention span, but I didn’t feel quite as tired as I do. Today I seriously feel like I’ve been hit by a train. I did feel like this for a couple of days last week following the procedure but from Sunday it started to feel a little bit more myself, so I’m just hoping someone will tell me this will pass very soon. I don’t have a temperature and my pain levels are just discomfort with the occasional sharpness. So I’m pretty sure I’m healing okay. It’s just I had understood that I would be feeling better or at the very least not so tired one week post operation.

Would love to hear if anyone’s got any advice or any personal experience of how they felt. Just some reassurance that this won’t last forever would be great. 😊 I’ll be honest if I realised that it would be such a painful postop I wouldn’t have gone ahead with it. But at the time I was mostly fixated on the procedure itself as everything I read focused on that and stated that I should be okay couple days after. It didn’t help that the doctor also said this and when I left just said take it easy today and don’t cook the dinner.

I would get checked out, just incase, it might be that you have a slower recovery due to the post surgery issues you had, was it an infection?
Sounds like you were one of the rare cases, I had it done a few months ago and felt fine within 48hrs.

Thank you for your reply. Yeah I think I’ll call the ward tomorrow if I still feel like this.
I didn’t have an infection. Think I had a form of shock The antibiotics was for a skin infection on my face that I had before and was advised to take after the procedure.
