Lost my voice completely

I woke up yesterday morning feeling rough with a high fever, body aches and sore throat. Now I’m less feverish if I keep dosed up but my voice has completely gone. I can barely whisper!

I have two children to look after and my job requires a lot of talking. How can I get it back?! Any remedies?

This sometimes happens to me just before I get a cold. I usually feel perfectly fine but have no voice for two or three days. Then the cold sets in, I sound better but feel much much worse!

It doesn’t feel like it’s coming back anytime soon, my throat and chest are really painful… today it’s gone from being raspy to absolutely nothing.

Snap. I can't speak at all and am coughing my lungs up, feeling rotten. No snotters, though, just the cough and sore throat!

Try and get a box of Vocalzone throat sweets from the chemists. Originally formulated for singers. Taste a lot of licorice which I don't like, but are like magic for a lost voice.

First recommended to me by a pharmacist after an afternoon of year 9 did for me during teacher training. Has happened at least once a year ever since...🙄
