Taking Mounjara for inflammation

MounjaroQuestion · 08/02/2025 21:04

Has anyone any experience of taking Mounjaro for inflammation rather than for weight loss? Or anyone who has taken it for weight loss but seen a big improvement in inflammation?

I suffer with inflammation and a generally overactive immune system. I am overweight enough to be prescribed it (BMI 32) but because I am otherwise happy with my weight/shape would only be taking it for the anti inflammatory effects.

Noe that I’ve typed it out, perhaps it doesn’t make any difference. I could just try it and see.

(posting here rather than in weight-loss topic because I don’t want answers restricted to just those who have an interest in losing weight)

Makes a massive difference

Cutting down on the sugar/carbs in all forms reduces the inflammation in the body

My knees are half the size they were and I can walk miles and miles, which of course reduces inflammation further

I was having steroid Smileknee injections every few months, none in last year now

Thanks Laurie. I’ve already been low-carb and no sugar for a couple of years to try to tackle the inflammation, but unfortunately it hasn’t had much effect.

I’m thinking it couldn’t hurt though!

I'm just about to finish my 2.5 and move up to 5. Pre jabs I suffered with inflammation and lots of random neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain all seemed to have calmed down with mounjaro but I have also been walking lots, drinking lots of water and eating better so I think ots a mix of things xx

MounjaroQuestion · 09/02/2025 09:52

Thanks @Jjff89 I used to walk loads - a couple of hours a a day or more, which definitely helped me. But it’s now that vicious spiral where the inflammation is so bad that I can barely walk half a mile.

Did you end up trying it @MounjaroQuestion ? Did it help?
