Anyone ever had shin splints?

I have been running and suffered with shin splints now for months. I ran for a few minutes yestersday but only on thr tread mill and they are agony today. Who should I see about them? Physio?

I've had them but I went to a specialist running shoe shop and bought a pair of trainers specifically matched to me - shin splints disappeared.

Dunno if that helps but hope you get them sorted soon. Bloody painful and very annoying.

shop I went to. I was made to run up and down the pavement whilst the guy watched me. Then he could determine exactly which trainers, according to my running style, etc

Well started off running a year ago in Nike ones, ditched them and now have axsics one but still no different. Did a 6 mile run in March and haven't recovered since really. Done abit of running for a few minutes on the treadmill but they just flare up again and hurt. I ran yesterday on TM for 8 mins and they kill tonight!

see a podiatrist? i saw one and got some inserts for my shoes/trainers.
not suffered from shin splints since.
