another question about mooncups

Am I doing something wrong? It really hurts when I take it out, and for a few minutes afterwards I am kind of achy. I was so excited about it but I can't get the hang of it at all.

You're meant to kind of squish it and break the seal as you pull it out, but personally I find getting it in and out rather painful too (not to mention messy)! It's fine once it's in though.

Ok, I posted pretty much the same message a few weeks ago here's the thread. Hope it helps!

How are you taking it out?

I find it easiest if I bear down and then pinch the end with my fingers, and then ease one side first, and it releases the seal.

Think mooncup is fab & wish I'd come across them years ago. I could never wear tampons day-to-day as that draw down feeling just made me really crampy and evil. With the mc it's taken 4-5 months & a bit of stalk trimming to get to the stage where I don't even know it's there.

Does anyone else's kind of "pop" inside them occasionally?

suwoo · 07/05/2008 22:24

Jesus, these threads scare me. I have such an opposite range of problems to the common ones it could piss a less cheerful person off. Beansmum, mine would fall out if I sneezed and didn't cross my legs- I'll swap you that for your aches.

beansmum · 07/05/2008 22:26

thanks bumperlicious, I will have a read through.

I'm kind of sliding my finger up the side of it to break the seal and then trying to squish it up a bit and pull it out. I think I'm getting a bit tense now when I am doing it and that's making it worse. Is there a certain position that makes it easier?

It's fine when it's in.

LOL suwoo!

Beansmum, I do it over the toilet but you have to make sure you squeeze it as it is coming out. I know what you mean about the achy feeling and I was ready to give mine up after the first few days, but persevere and you will get the hang of it.
