Consultant vs ANP appointment

I have finally received an appointment for NHS neurology referral but it’s with an ANP headache clinic. I am already privately diagnosed and tried a number of treatments.
I am not sure what to expect from ANP appointment and if they are able to review my current treatment, prescribe a new one? Do they fast track you to a consultant depending on severity etc? I don’t know how that works so hoping some wise people on here can advise please

I am undecided if I want to keep that appointment or ask for a consultant one (will need to wait few weeks for that)

Yes they can do all of those things.

Definitely keep the appointment. They will either be trained in what to do for your circumstances, or identify that you need to see the consultant - in which case you will get there quicker than by insisting you need a consultant appointment and going to the back of the queue.

Thanks both - will go ahead with APN

Yes, do see them. My bowel nurses are totally on it and I only see the consultant when absolutely necessary.
