lucky me i have been referred for a vaginal scan - since xmas i have had very odd periods - lasting 4-6 weeks at a time, heavy bleeding, etc.

went to see gp about 6 weeks ago & was prescribed tablets which stopped the bleeding - have had one heavy (but only 5 day) period since then & currently on 2nd so hopefully back to normal. my gp did an internal exam which he said was normal but referred me for a scan anyway to see if it showed anything

i am a terrible hypochondriac & negative thinker so trying not to think of various scenarios & remian of the view all will be fine.(though it would be nice if anyone else has been through this & can tell me i most likely have nothing to worry about!)...

my main query is over whether i have made my scan appt for the right day. the letter i got said you should be scanned on 5th day of cycle, and to call on 1st day of bleeding. i started bleeding on mon this week & my scan is friday - am assuming this is right as 1st day of bleeding = first day of cycle but is it?

Yes, first day of your period is the first day of your cycle. So Friday is the right day for you.
